Town Water Update 2-27-26
A leak in a service line was discovered last week. This leak was causing us to lose a significant amount of water. We have shut off that service line and we are replenishing our reserve. We were able to make more water than our demand even over the busy weekend. This is significant as we were consistently dropping water levels and were close to critical levels. This will affect the discoloration very quickly and many of you may have already seen progress.
The Town of Cavendish has purchased new water meters. If we had these meters installed throughout town we could have very possibly noticed this problem within days not months. These new meters will sense vibrations of a leak to help us find it, as well as give us a warning that a line is freezing. Not to mention that a working meter can identify a leak in a residence simply by the usage.
We have installed a portion of them but really need customers help. We need to schedule the install with people when you are home and available. Below is an email for scheduling, please list Name, Address and a Phone Number so we can call to schedule the meter replacement.
